Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) Administration Services

11 Feb 2015 Comment from “Unclaimed benefits assistance” :
“The administrator of the GEPF, which is the pension fund for government employees, has disclosed it has over R406 million owing to more than 70,000 former employees. We believe this is the tip of the iceberg in the fund as there are also, inter alia, outstanding death and orphan claims. Unfortunately the names and details of unclaimed benefits have not been shared with us. But we suggest that you contact the offices of the GPAA, the fund administrator, to enquire about a claim you may believe is due to you as a former employee or beneficiary.”

The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) has over 1.2 million active members with more than 300 000 pensioners and beneficiaries, and assets worth more than R1 trillion. Investments are handled by the PIC (Public investment corporation)

The PIC Invests in the major asset classes on behalf of the GEPF, namely Equities (shares in companies listed on the JSE), Fixed income (Investments in bonds on the domestic bond market), Properties (this would include retail, industrial, corporate and special residential) and Isibaya Fund (BEE companies and infrastructure development).
